OOTD| Casual College Day

Hello Everyone, just a quick post to show you what I wore one day this week to college. The look is comfy, casual but also smart and appropriate.

Jeans- Topshop high waisted Joni Jeans (£36.00)

Heart Print Shirt- Topshop £38.00

I tied the shirt at the bottom for more of a casual look, and paired it with a classic pair of black skinny jeans.

To go with the outfit, I wanted a comfy classic pair of shoes, so I chose these small black boots from Newlook, with some cute frilly socks poking out. I also rolled the jeans up at the bottom to highlight the shoes and socks.

Black Suede Boots- Newlook £20.00

Frilly Socks- Topshop £4.00

I paired the outfit with a classic, chunky black and white bag.

Bag- Topshop Sale £20.00

Tips For Keeping Your Skin Clear and Healthy

I think that us girls all long for that perfect 'air-brushed' looking skin, with no redness, blemishes or breakouts- right? Recently, my skin has been fairly calm, with little redness and hardly any breakouts, although my skin has been rather dry. So today I thought I would share with you a few tips and tricks in order to keep your skin healthy and blemish-free!
(image from weheartit)
Skin Care:

I think that it is essential to look after your skin and to have some sort of a skin-care routine. Although you don't need to spend hours doing a skin care routine in the morning and evening, but I do think that it is necessary to rinse your face in the morning and use a cleanser and moisturiser before applying any make-up. It is also as highly important that you take off your make-up at the end of a day. Personally I use the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, this is an easy method to take make-up off and has a multi-purpose use for the eyes, face and lips.

Exfoliating:

Exfoliating too much can be bad for your skin as it can remove the natural oils and cause the skin irritation. Personally, I exfoliate once weekly in order to thoroughly cleanse my skin and leave it feeling smooth and fresh. Ensure that if you have sensitive skin you use a light exfoliator and not one that will be too harsh on your skin.

Maintaining a Balanced Diet:

If you want clear, healthy skin it is important that you maintain a balanced, nutritious diet. Too many fatty, greasy foods can cause us to break out due to the lack of good nutrients within the food. A constant unhealthy diet can cause our skin irritation and so it is important that you eat clean. Make an effort to eat your 5 a day and cut out the fatty foods, your skin will thank you and you will feel much better within your self!

Fluid Intake:

One of the most important things for maintaining healthy, glowing skin is fluid. It is important that we drink between 6 and 8 cups of water a day in order to hydrate our skin and reduce dryness. Drinking plenty of water each day can also help to wash away toxins. If you are not someone who enjoys drinking water, try green or peppermint tea- my personal favorites!

Exercise:

Exercise is so important for maintaining healthy and calm skin. Exercise helps to increase our blood flow and nourishes our skin cells- making our skin appear healthier and happier! Even gentle exercise such as a fast walk or a slow jog can help to improve our skins appearance.

Cleaning Your Make-Up Brushes:

My final tip for keeping your skin blemish free and flawless looking is to wash your make-up brushes and sponges frequently. Make-up brushes and sponges can collect dirt particles and spread over our face if they are not washed regularly. If we have a break out, using make-up brushes may also cause contamination over the rest of the skin. Personally, I wash my brushes once a week or if I use a brush when I am having a break out, I will wash it before my next use.

I hope that you found this helpful, let me know in the comments what your favourite skin-care tips are. Also, if anyone has any suggestions on products to use to help dry skin this would be much appreciated.

Spring Wish List

Yet again, it is that time of the year where the seasons are beginning to change, and I feel the need to splash the cash on a few essential items. Well, I say essential, they are not but changing up your wardrobe once in a while can't hurt, can it?

If you have read my previous posts, you will understand that I have a little addiction to shopping and I love to fantasize about all the things I could have if I just had enough pennies! I have made a little wishlist of items that I hope to purchase in the upcoming months, enjoy!

The first item is something that I have been eyeing up for a long time and I feel that it is such an essential through the spring and summer time, or even any time of the year. The classic fur-lined pale denim jacket from Topshop retails at £57.00 - expensive, I know. This jacket could be paired with almost any spring outfit and will also be practical for Britain's typically cold spring.

The next item, a coral/pink toned satchel is great for adding a bit of color to your wardrobe. It would look great with the denim jacket and it's such a classy little piece. The satchel is from Topshop and retails for £33.00.

Chunky black boots are so on-trend this season, and these suede lace-ups are just perfect! They can be paired with almost any outfit, day or night and warn in so many different ways. Although these boots are a little out of my comfort zone, I think they will look great on and help to add a little bit of height since I am only 5ft.1! These boots can be purchased from ASOS and retail for £79.00.

A new scent is always necessary for a new season, or at least I think so. The Pink Sands Yankee Candle is such a fresh spring scent and is perfect for creating a floral fresh scent in your room. The small Yankee Candle jar retails for £8.39 and can burn for up to 40 hours.

Pretty accessories are a must have for spring time, they can brighten up an outfit and become such a statement piece. This gorgeous Marc Jacobs Daisy Ring is such a classic item that would look lovely with pastel painted nails and any spring outfit! This ring is a little pricey but totally worth it, it retails for £29.00.

Finally, a new lipstick is always vital for a new season, colours come in and colours go out. Spring is all about the vibrant colours, the pinks, the corals and the peaches. This MAC lipstick in 'Lady Danger' is a stunning hot pink, it stands out and is so vibrant- perfect for spring. This retails for £15.00 at MAC but can be found elsewhere for cheaper.

OOTD| Spring Has Sprung!

So the sun has finally made an appearance in England, and instantly I took full advantage of it and put on a dress. Although I am sure that this was just a one off and not the beginning of spring, for a day I could pretend.

Whilst the weather is still fairly cold, I was only going to be inside today so I did not worry about layering the outfit.

Dress- Topshop
This fitted floral dress is perfect for a casual day or can be paired with heels to dress it up. The dress is a thin material, tight fitting at the top and has a kind of 'skater style' bottom. The dress also has a cut-out on the back.

Heels- New Look

Ring- Accessorise

Nails- BarryM Gelly- Dragon

Necklace- A gift

Lips- Rimmel London Kate Moss no.19

M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid Foundation Review

Whilst shopping a few weeks ago, I happened to stumble across a M.A.C store, and immediately I was drawn in by the beautiful display of make-up. For a little while I had been contemplating buying the M.A.C Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, so I asked the lady for a skin match test and that was it- I was immediately in love with the foundation, and so it came home with me!

The foundation has an SPF of 15 and is available in a wide range of colors, I purchased mine in the shade NC15. The foundation retails at a price of £21.50 and contains 1 fl oz. A reasonable price if you ask me!

The foundation is full coverage and gives a matte finish- perfect for those with combination to oily skin! Personally, my skin is fairly normal, although in the winter I do get a few dry patches around my nose and on my forehead, but before application of the foundation I applied a moisturiser and the dry patches were no longer visible!

(Before)

I apply the foundation with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush in order for the foundation to be evenly distributed, and worked into my skin flawlessly. The foundation covers all blemishes and imperfections and is great for evening out uneven skin tone or any redness that you may have, and it dries quickly leaving your skin feeling smooth as a baby's bottom!

The foundation is very buildable and does not go cakey when applied over an area twice. The foundation is long wearing and with a little powder applied to my T-Zone I can wear this foundation for up to 10 hours- exactly what I need for a long day at college!

(After)
The only negative point that I have to say about the foundation is that it does not come with a pump, so it can get very messy if you are just applying it from a wide nozzle. Fortunately you can buy a pump to go with the foundation that retails for £4.00, personally I think that this is essential!

Overall, I think that this is a great product for anyone who is looking to spend a little more on a foundation, it gives a flawless airbrushed looking finish and covers any small or large imperfections. The Studio Fix Fluid is a great long lasting foundation- perfect for anyone who has a long day at work or school!

Thank you for reading lovelies, I hope this was helpful.

Hello lovelies, uh so the basics, my name is Olivia and I am 16 years young.
